Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

I've been in battle with one or two returning grey hairs since I was about 16, and I'm now 19. Is this normal, and more importantly, should I pull it/them out?

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

it's no big deal. it may be hereditary and passed on from generation to another.

In scientific terms, this is called "silent genetic mutation" in which such mutations do not have side effects on the function of body organs and tissues

Yes.

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

yup don't worry about it.

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

yes it happens and it is normal

been to doctors and they said it is OK

and do not pull then out..

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

i say it normal same with me

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

don't pull them, u can try dying them, pulling usually leads to more, but as far as it being normal, it's not normal in the sense that it's not very widespread but it is normal in the sense that it does happen, have you seen taylor hicks on american idol, he's what 28 or so and has a full head of gray hair, he said it started when he was a teen

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

yes it can be normal,i started getting grey gair hair since i was 17 and now i am 27 and they are alot worse, there is nothing you can do about them.you can color them but it doesnt last long at all plus it will fry your hair if you keep coloring it!and it is not true that if you pull one out it will make more grow back, just ask your doctor about it and they will tell you the same thing!have a nice day:)

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

hey i think the other ppl answered this best...i'm 25 and have some myself! i was worried too lol! but look at it this way, if we go gray younger, it'll just be easier to color it, right... :)

Teen with a few grey hairs...Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. My aunt had a friend who was nearly completely grey by the time she was 18. Don't pluck them. You pull one and two more will grow in it's place.

It's normal if you are under a lot of stress...

I teach hairdressing and was trained back in the day when you had to learn all sorts of scientific theory before you qualified, and I can tell you categorically that pulling them out DOES NOT make more grow, no matter what people say. That is a physical impossibility. More may well grow but if they do they would have done so whether you pulled the original ones out or not. the only challenge with plucking is that as they grow back they tend to stick up because they tend to be more wiry than the rest of your hair.

as to whether it's normal- absolutely normal, if uncommon, and nothing to worry about. it happens when the cells that produce pigment for those paticular hair decide to give up. that can happen at any age although can be brought on by severe stress/trauma. Plucking or dying are equally good options but if%26amp;when they increase in number you may need to go for the colouring option. I had a friend at school who was 75% grey at age14. She just used it as an excuse to experiment with colour and looked fabulous all the time. she put the rest of us to shame.
