Blonde hair to brunette??????

Hi, I have meduim to light blonde hair with kinda fair skin. Also I have blue-grey eyes. And I want to dye my hair brunette...that is if i can convince my mom..shes so protective of my blonde hair.... anywhoooo, I would like to know what brand and posibly what shade would look the best on me. Also that would be the least damaging. Thanks everyone!!! xoxo

I did the exact same thing. I had naturally blonde hair and dyed it a reddish-brown. It turned out really nicely and now people always think it's my natural color. My suggestion is to not go too dark because it will contrast too much with fair skin. Adding just a tiny bit of red to the color gives it a nice touch and makes it look more natural when used with fair skin.

If you want to do it, I say go for it! It's annoying when people say, "Oh you should keep it blonde, why would you want to dye it?" Blondes like to try new things too!

my best friend dyed her blonde hair brown to match mine.. she regrets it very much and has not been able to get back to her natural color. However... for you! If you want to do it.. she suggests picking a shade 1 shade darker than you truly want to go, because she ended up having to dye hers 3 times to get it dark enough, and she already had some brown undertone to her blonde. The blonde was very resistant to brown dye.. Maybe you should try a wash out first.. like a 12 wash one, so your mom could get used to the idea, without a long term commitment? then if she likes it, you can go back and go permanent!

y do u want to dye ur hair? blondes nice. but if u really want to , get l'oreal or go to a salon. seriously, they NEVER mess up. of course i might be wrong.

woow. i did the exact same thing! i had naturally blonde hair and dyed it darker.. i reeeaaaly miss it though. and once you go darker, its reeaaly, really hard to get it back if you ever wanted to. i sort of regret dying it darker but i still love it lots. totally your decision though. good luck%26lt;3

It's possible. If I were you, I would fork over the money to let a professional do it for you. That way they can pick out a shade of brown that will go with your skin tone. Some people look better with warmer shades, other with cool shades. See a good pro and ask them for their advice. And it never hurts to take pictures of colors of brown that you are interested in. Good luck. And if you don't like it, you can always try a different color.

I would advise you to try a temporary or semi-permanent color first to see if you like the color. I am also pale and darker colors look terrible on me. I wouldn't go darker than a medium brown, maybe something with an auburn tint to add some color. Good Luck!

I too am fair skinned with green eyes. I dyed my blonde hair to brown and I love it. I continue to do it because it keeps lightening back up. I think if you have light hair and light skin there is no contrast, the colors blend together. Your face and your hair will pop more if you darken it. If your not sure how I would recommend a salon.

Maybe go with a sandy blonde and not so much the darker tones. My ex is also blonde and she got dyed hers auburn, kind of like a new untarnished penny.

Le-oral is a good brand to use! It really would be a shame to cover up your pretty blond hair! If you are going to any way then try a dark blond as it will turn out much darker then your hair color! It will be like a brunett color without going too dark. If you are not careful you will get it too dark and be real sick of it! Anything any darker you will not like it and if you use permanent color then you will have to live with it! Have you thought about using a semi-permanent color that last 6 weeks? Girls pay alot to have pretty blond hair and it never looks as good as a natural blond does!

Have you thought about buying a hair piece (used to be called wigs). They're very popular these days and you can't even tell the difference.

That way you get to try it first, then if you don't like it, no damage done.

I've heard that colouring your hair can also be very damaging.
